How We Do It

During the summer, we embark on a 10-week virtual journey on Zoom examining the historiography of voting rights in America. Our focus extends to understanding the systems that both expand and erode the democratic process.

And the best part? Participants earn a $1,000 stipend!

  • Meet twice a week on Zoom Tues & Thurs @ 10am PST

  • First day of Session June 25th, 2024

  • Graduation September 5th, 2024

  • I learned a lot, met new people, I got out of my comfort zone and I made a difference

    Devon Chapman, 2020

  • I know so much more about civic engagement and feel more empowered to make a difference. Now that I know what I can do and have the tools to do so, the U.S. feels a lot less hopeless.

    Anonymous, 2022

  • I learned more about various barriers to people's ability to vote and was able to make an impact on this election AND was very useful in an internship I did for a congressional campaign in fall 2020

    Rhyannon Hayes, 2020

  • I came into the program trying to understand how voting and elections "really" worked. I learned a lot about voter suppression, so it felt rewarding to be part of the action to call and text people--felt like I made a difference.

    Evan Peterson, 2021

  • It teaches me more in ten weeks than I ever got in all my K-12 history classes combined!

    Asha Douglas, 2020

  • It’s fun, engaging, informative, and low stress

    Calvin Mandes, 2023

  • DO IT BABE!!

    Cyrrah Fisher, 2022

  • It is probably one of the best internships you can do in your life. The amount of information you will receive is incredible and the path way to do more work is clearly there if you are interest to do more work in the realm of voting justice.

    Pouya Souri, 2021
